Races in the Laneway – Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End
Pig ‘N’ Whistle West End is hosting an unforgettable event in the Laneway Bar! A three hour beverage package will keep your thirst at bay, with beer on tap, wines and Mumm champagne complemented by an exquisite canapé package. At $99 a head this will be one of the best value for money events around. Ensure you bring some loose change to partake in our sweeps competition! $2, $5 and $10 sweeps will be available.
The Laneway will be decked out with floral arrangements, fairy lights, balloons with white picket fences surrounding. Make sure you get your photo taken by our professional photographer! Whilst you’re at it (and looking super dapper) keep your ear out for prizes for Best Dressed female and male plus awards for the best hat or fascinator. The fun doesn’t end there! From 3pm a live musician will take the stage so kick on and dance the afternoon away. Purchase your tickets here.
High Tea – Pig ‘N’ Whistle Indooroopilly
Nothing screams spring more spending Melbourne Cup at High Tea! Famous for its daily high tea offering, Indooroopilly is hosting the most quaint event of all. Pig ‘N’ Whistle Indooroopilly has been serving High Tea to the people of Brisbane’s western suburbs for years, and we know what we’re doing.
Think Devonshire scones and dainty sandwiches, and if petite cakes sound like your cup of tea then you probably want to book a table now. If our delectable menu wasn’t enough to entice you, how about an all inclusive 3 hour drinks package? Just make sure you drop the kiddies off for a full day of daycare because this is one High Tea soiree you will not want to leave! Make a booking here.

Non-ticketed Melbourne Cup events
If the boss won’t let you off the hook for the day, pop in to Riverside, Queen Street Mall, King George Square or Brunswick Street. Stay for a couple of hours or just pop in for the race. It’s the one day of the year that fascinators take precedence over football and these venues will be showing all the action without the fuss!
